EN19 Grade Introduction:

EN19 Hardness:

EN19 Heat Treatment:
EN19 steel is heated to 845°C followed by quenching in oil. Before hardening, it can be normalized by heating at 913°C and air cooling.
EN19 Hardening:
EN19 can be hardened by heating and quenching or by cold working.
EN19 Tempering:
Tempering can be done at 205-649°C depending on the desired hardness level. Lower tempering temperatures result in higher hardness, with a tensile strength of 225 ksi at 316°C and 130 ksi at 538°C.

EN19 Forging Properties:
Forging of EN19 occurs at 926-1205°C. Slow cooling after forging is recommended.
EN19 Stress Relieving:
- Annealed: 600-650°C
- Hardened: 500-550°C
EN19 Normalizing:
Normalizing is done by heating to 870-900°C, followed by cooling in still air.
EN19 Annealing:
Annealing is done by heating the steel to 872°C and allowing it to cool slowly in a furnace.
EN19 Density:
- Density: 7.85 kg/cm³
EN19 Machinability:
EN19 alloy steel has good machinability when annealed.
EN19 Welding:
EN19 can be welded using conventional techniques, but welding in the heat-treated condition affects mechanical properties, necessitating post-weld heat treatment.
