EN24 – BRIGHT BAR Grade Overview:
EN24 steel Bright bar is a high-strength alloy, provided in a hardened and tempered condition. This grade is a blend of nickel, chromium, and molybdenum, giving it excellent tensile strength along with good ductility and wear resistance. EN24 exhibits strong impact resistance, even at lower temperatures, making it suitable for high-temperature applications. For larger sections (above 250mm), it’s recommended to supply the material in an annealed state, followed by quenching and tempering, to optimize the mechanical properties at the core.

EN24 – BRIGHT BAR Hardening: In its annealed state, EN24 can be heated slowly to 830-850°C, followed by quenching in oil. Post-quenching, tempering should be done as soon as possible. Neutral salt bath hardening is preferred to prevent scaling or decarburization.
