EN353 – BRIGHT BAR Grade Introduction:

We specialize in manufacturing EN353 Steel Bright Round Bars from high-quality billets and blooms. EN353 alloy steel round bars are widely used across various industries for their high tensile strength, ductility, and wear resistance.

EN353 is a high-strength steel alloy that is hardened and tempered before supply. It contains nickel, chromium, and molybdenum, which contribute to its high tensile strength and resistance to wear. The steel also maintains good impact resistance at low temperatures and is ideal for elevated temperature applications.

EN353 steel offers a Brinell hardness of HB 270.

EN353 – BRIGHT BAR Heat Treatment:

Hardening involves heating the steel to 780-820°C and quenching in oil. This provides high hardness, wear resistance, and strength. Tempering is conducted by reheating to 150-200°C, soaking for 1-2 hours per 25mm of section, and then cooling in air, achieving a hardness of 62-64 HRC after tempering.

EN353 – BRIGHT BAR Forging Properties:

EN353 steel offers an excellent combination of ductility, strength, and wear resistance, making it a highly preferred choice for heavy-duty industrial applications. Forging is performed between 780-820°C followed by oil quenching for hardening.

EN353 – BRIGHT BAR Stress Relieving:

Stress relieving is performed by heating to 150-200°C and cooling in a furnace to minimize internal stresses. Pre-heating involves steps at 400°C, followed by further pre-heating between 780-805°C.

EN353 – BRIGHT BAR Normalizing:

Normalizing involves heating the steel to around 820°C and then air-cooling to achieve a uniform grain structure.

EN353 – BRIGHT BAR Annealing:

Annealing is carried out at 630-670°C, allowing slow cooling for optimal machinability.

EN353 – BRIGHT BAR Density:

The density of EN353 bright bars is 8.08 g/cm³ or 0.292 lb/in³.

EN353 bright bars have a machinability rating of 75, making them highly suitable for cutting and shaping operations.
