EN3B – BRIGHT BAR Grade Introduction:

EN3B Bright Mild Steel, also known as 070M20, is a low-carbon steel without significant alloying elements, making it ideal for a variety of general-purpose engineering applications. Its carbon content is typically below 0.25%, and it is most commonly supplied in the form of cold-drawn bright bars. This steel is especially favored for applications where high stress is not involved.

In its bright cold-drawn condition, EN3B can withstand higher stress levels, particularly in smaller diameters. The bright steel offers more accurate sectional tolerances, greater straightness, and a cleaner surface than hot-rolled alternatives. It is also easier to machine to the final size, reducing machining costs. Compared to standard mild steel, bright mild steel has enhanced physical strength. EN3B is also suitable for welding and can be case-hardened.
